Restaurant Review -Zandra's ★★☆☆☆

Having grown up in Texas and California, Mexican food is a diet staple in our home! I am always looking for good tacos. My favorite in NOVA is Taco Bamba, but a new place opened in Old Town Fairfax so my husband and I decided to try it. It has won the Virginia Living Magazine's "Best of Virginia" twice for their Manassas location, so I thought I would give them the opportunity to win me over at their new location!

Just to get straight to the point....Zandra's is a sit down restaurant with an extensive drink menu which is a positive, but the food is just average, nothing special.

I joked with my husband that the best part, aside from the unlimited basket of crispy chips, was the hook for my purse attached to the table.

The menu items are reasonably priced and you get $1 off all tacos before 4pm.

We started with Mexican street corn - "Elote".

Then I ordered the Fish taco and the Cuban taco - ehh! Just OK.

The portion size was good for a $4 taco, the flavor was just a tad bit boring in my humble opinion. When I go out and spend $$ I want the food to be better than at home!

So I rate Zandra's Taqueria 2 out of 5 stars. They had good service and an extensive menu and the parking is easy. I might go again if we were nearby and hungry, but I am still a devoted fan of TACO BAMBA!
