Skip the jarred sauce and make this quick sauce, even during the week!
1 TB olive oil
3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1, 28 ounce can crushed (I prefer it) or pureed tomatoes
1 TB tomato paste
1 TSP oregano
1 TB granulated sugar
2 TSP Kosher salt
1/4 TSP black pepper
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil. Add the garlic. Quickly cook until it is fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in the tomatoes (Use what you have in the pantry, you can also puree a can of a whole tomatoes) and stir. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir gently until incorporated. Simmer over low heat 12 - 15 minutes.
