My kids have been telling me about Caboose for months, but I just recently had the opportunity to try it myself. My son and I went for lunch after seeing an early movie at Angelika Theater. (By the way we went and saw The Farewell - very good!)
There is a large outdoor space and three levels inside, including a brewery.
After looking their menu, I decided I would try the brisket sandwich.
So for a $14 sandwich, I would say it was excellent. The meat was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce and veggies. Brisket is not the easiest piece of meat to prepare, even cooking low and slow - it can be difficult to get the right texture. I enjoyed it and could not have made it better myself!
Since it was the middle of the day, I did not try anything from the bar, but I will definitely be back.
Between the indoor and outdoor spaces, this establishment is huge and hip! You can go just for coffee and sit and do some work, bring the kids for lunch or stop by on the way home for a snack and a drink. This place is FUN!
