Bread Crumbs

If you have a few bags of stale bread with just a slice or two and the end pieces left - don't throw it out, make bread crumbs instead!

First cut the bread into 2 " chunks and place them in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Preheat the oven to 350˚ F.

Bake for about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes so they toast evenly.

Remove the bread from the oven and let cool completely. Process the bread in a food processor until finely chopped.

At this point you can leave them plain or add seasoning to make them "Italian style".

Italian Style

For every 1 cup of bread crumbs add

1/8 TSP Koser salt

1 TSP Italian seasoning

1/4 TSP garlic powder

Store in Ziploc Bags in your freezer.

Now what do make with the crumbs? Add a crispy layer to chicken, pork or fish! Top some baked mac & cheese or add it to meatloaf or meatballs.
