Wonton Soup

  • 8 cups chicken broth

  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed

  • 4 slices fresh ginger, ¼” thick

  • 3 TB Chinese cooking wine

  • 3 TB soy sauce

  • ¾ TSP sesame oil

  • For garnish – 2 green onions sliced and bean sprouts

  • Homemade or frozen dumplings


Place all the ingredients in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer 10 minutes. Bring the soup back to a boil, add the wontons/dumplings**, immediately reduce the heat. Simmer an additional 10 minutes. Remove the ginger slices and garlic. Pour into bowls and garnish with green onions and bean sprouts.
